Description
Nutrition management in Aquaculture is an important and critical program to foster greater phytoplankton or micro algae production and increase the natural food base for aquatic animal production. This is more particularly true in hatcheries where entire production cycle depends on phytoplankton population. A range of nutrients such as Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Silicate, Sodium, Trace Elements and Vitamins are necessary for increased and healthy growth of micro algae.
Although organic feeds can be just as efficient as fertiliser nutrients in enhancing production, fertilisers have several advantages over organic feeds. They are more widely available, require lower application rates, have a more consistent composition, elicit a more predictable response. Organic feeds have low nitrogen content and tend to decompose slowly and incompletely leaving large amounts of organic residues and polluting pond environment. Use of inorganic fertilisers is an increasing trend these days in Aquaculture Industry.
With this background, Manutec has developed specialty Liquid fertiliser for the Aquaculture Industry and this formulation has been successfully tested and used in many hatcheries nationally across Australia and New Zealand over the past 20+years.
